Al-Mar is located in front of the sea, within the Guaycura universe. It shares the mystique of the group's coastal area, being the place where “the fire ignites the night”. When you book, our team will send you the exact location so you can get straight to this sensory retreat.
When is the best time to visit Al-Mar?
The sunset is magical, but the transition to night is where the true sensory magic happens. When the sun goes down, the streetlights draw warm shadows on the sand and the sound of the waves becomes the protagonist of the conversation.
Do they have the classic Baja Tacos on their menu?
Of course! But with the Al-Mar touch. Our Baja Camarón Tacos have the traditional crispy marinade on a mix of fresh cabbage. We also offer Gobernador Tacos, which include a very special ingredient from the area: the local machaca, which gives it an authentic and deep flavor.
What is Totoaba and why is it a prominent dish on your menu?
We serve Totoaba from sustainable fishing, an iconic fish from the region known for its firm texture and delicate flavor. We prepared it sealed in a vibrant citrus puree and basil oil, representing our commitment to responsible consumption and the flavors of La Baja.
How do you define Al-Mar cuisine?
We define it as a kitchen guided by the environment. The menu is flexible and changes depending on what the season and the local product of Baja California Sur offers us. It is an honest, fresh and close cuisine that seeks to accompany the landscape without imposing itself on it.
What makes Al-Mar different from Grupo Guaycura's other restaurants?
Al-Mar is our most intimate and bohemian proposal. Unlike the formality of El Mirador or the energy of El Faro, here the experience literally happens with your feet in the sand. It is a space designed to flow with the rhythm of the sea, where soft lighting and fire create a contemplative refuge facing the Pacific.
